Making sustainable sunglasses has always been at the heart of what we do. We've never used plastic in our frames and never will. The Tambora is made from layers of maple wood, sandwiched together and finished by hand.

Buying for someone else? All our sunglasses are presented in a stylish cleaning bag, making for a great gift.

Where did the name come from?

The Dewerstone is a big rock in Dewerstone Woods, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

The woods serve as a gateway to the National Park and for so many people the Dewerstone rock itself is their first outdoor climb.

The River Plym and the River Meavy both flow through the woods, providing great scenic walks from their banks and class 3-5 whitewater paddling.

How did it start?

We started back in 2013, screen printing t shirts in Rorys garage, a stones throw from Dewerstone Woods.

In 2019 we moved to Princetown, right in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. We opened our flagship store there later that year.

Everything we do revolves around working to protect the environment and using our platform to help influence both environmental and social change.

Our inspiration comes from making a positive impact in the environments we love.
