Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of what we do. dewerstone was founded in 2013, inspired by life in and on Dartmoor National Park. It is our responsibility to protect the environment our brand is founded upon.

Our Flagship Store is in Princetown, the highest village and heart of the National Park. The surrounding landscape serves as a daily reminder that we ensure future generations can experience Dartmoor’s myths, history and stories of adventure. Embracing an outdoor lifestyle means being an advocate for the spaces we love.

Wherever you are on our home planet, the importance of protecting its flowing rivers, magical woodland and the endless trails linking them cannot be understated. But we can’t do it alone.

dewerstone’s collaboration with 1% for the Planet and Climate Neutral means we are held to account for our company's sustainability goals.

1% for the Planet.

Our partnership with 1% for the Planet guarantees that we uphold our commitment to protecting our only home. 1% of our total sales, not profit, go to environmental non-profits including Save Our Rivers, Eden Reforestation and the Gili Eco Trust.

Climate Neutral Certified.

Being Climate Neutral Certified means we measure our carbon footprint, reduce what we can with ambitious targets to reduce further emissions, then offset the rest through accredited schemes. Our targets include switching quarterly air freight orders to sea freight and transitioning to 100% of outgoing packaging being kerbside recyclable.

We Can't Do It Alone.

Our customers share our values and demand we use the influence we have to lead on global issues like climate change. This can’t just be an image or marketing campaign, it has to be the foundation of how we operate as a business. From our Life Shorts made from recycled plastic bottles, to our hand printed organic cotton clothing, by putting Planet before profit we hope to be a catalyst for change.

dewerstone is not perfect. By questioning the environmental impact of every decision we make we are always improving.
