Hurley Classic 2014

We are back from an epic weekend at the Hurley Classic! And what an awesome showcase of freestyle kayaking it was! Competitors travelled from all over the world to demonstrate their best freestyle moves at the Hurley Weir, including our ver own ambassadors Doug Cooper and James Weight. 

The event was expertly put together and ran smoothly throughout the weekend. For us it was about spreading the dewerstone word, showcasing our products and watching as much of the action as we could.

Despite the cloudy weather and on off rain all weekend there was still a good turnout of spectators for Saturday night’s freestyle showcase and the banquet on Saturday night which was delicious! Despite the weather the Life Shorts and our Polarized Sunglasses were still turning heads, so if you are planning on hitting the slopes or jetting off to a sunny country this winter be sure to order yourself a pair! 

Ambassadors James Weight and Doug Cooper both did the dewerstone brand proud. With Doug coming 7^th overall (the highest GBR mens team ranking) and both of them holding their own amongst some of the best paddlers in the world.

2nd: Stephen Wright - USA
3rd: Sebastien Devred - FRA

Womens:
1st: Fiona Jarvie - GBR
2nd: Lowri Davies - GBR
3rd: Emily Wall – GBR

A huge congratulations to the Womens GBR team for owning the podium!

Overall we had an awesome weekend at Hurley with great hosts, but Monday came around far too quickly. We would like to thank Jacko and the team for having us and we can’t wait to come back next year to support our ambassadors with a bigger range of products for you all to see!
