Today we joined 1% for the Planet, committing to donate 1% of annual sales to support nonprofit organisations focused on the environment.
Planet before profit.
1% of sales means just that, it's not 1% of profit. We are committed to supporting environmental non-profits regardless of whether we make a profit or not.
It's a big commitment, one that not many businesses have made and we're super proud that we're not only making better choices in what we do as a business, we're extending our impact to financially supporting people who are making a difference everyday.
“We’ve long been associated with the outdoors, through both work and play, the great outdoors is our home and it is our responsibility to look after it, regardless of whether it’s on our doorstep or the other side of the world.
Whilst we’re based in the middle of Dartmoor National Park, as a global brand, we need to continue to make good choices in what we do and use our influence to educate and aid others in making good choices too,” - Rory Atton, founder of dewerstone.
“dewerstone currently works with environmental non-profit, Save Our Rivers, an environmental action group, who successfully saved the River Conwy from an inappropriate hydroelectric scheme. The supply of less electricity than a wind turbine could not justify the devastating impact on biodiversity and the natural environment within the site of specific scientific interest,” - Ewart Aylward, dewerstone.
